Fatality Summary for Industry Awareness
It has been reported that a 34 year old Workshop Fitter employed on a Pilbara iron ore mine was fatally injured when a dozer belly plate fell onto him during maintenance work at approximately 03.15 am on 30 May 2009. Department of Mines and Petroleum Inspectors of Mines are at the scene of the incident.
